This lesser-known trekking route follows the Marsyangdi River and offers some of the best views of Mt Everest, as well as other Himalayan giants such as Kangchenjunga and Makalu, depending on the time of year that you’re traveling. Kathmandu to Nagarkot

The journey from Kathmandu to Nagarkot is a scenic one, and the views only get better as you get closer to your destination. There are plenty of places to stop along the way, so you can take in the natural beauty of Nepal.
Once you arrive in Nagarkot, there are plenty of things to do, from hiking and biking to simply taking in the stunning views. There are also plenty of places to stay including eco-lodges, resorts and hotels. One such place is the Woodland Eco Lodge. It has an onsite spa that offers an assortment of treatments and therapies, as well as yoga classes to help you unwind after a long day of exploring.
Nagarkot to Dhulikhel

There are plenty of things to do in and around the valley. For starters, you can take a day hike from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel. The trail takes you through forests and villages, and offers stunning views of the Himalayas. You can also visit the nearby towns of Namche Bazaar and Lukla, or go on a longer trek to Everest Base Camp.
Explore on your own by hiring a jeep to tour the small villages scattered throughout the valley. Don’t forget to pick up some apples from Syaniko before heading back to Kathmandu! It’s just as important as taking pictures, if not more so.
While many people know about the Mahalangur mountain range in central Nepal (which includes Mount Everest), few have heard of the Karnali range located north of it.

There’s no better way to spend an afternoon than walking around this sleepy village with these beautiful creatures at your side.
The people of Dhulikhel have always been warm and welcoming, but they’re most famous for the distinctive woven wool carpets that they produce here.

Tatopani is known for its natural hot springs, which are said to have healing properties.
The water temperature in the springs ranges from 35-42 degrees Celsius, so it’s definitely not for the faint of heart! Be sure to bring your own towel, soap, shampoo, etc., as they’re not provided by the hotels or spas. Even though it’s quite remote, there are plenty of cafes around town where you can grab some tea or coffee and enjoy the scenery – there’s even wifi if you need to catch up on work while on vacation!

The border crossing at Sunauli/Bairgania is the most popular way to enter Nepal from India. The small town of Sunauli sits on the Indian side of the border, while Bairgania is on the Nepali side. There are a few things to keep in mind when crossing the border, such as getting your visa in advance and having your passport and other travel documents ready.
You can also get an e-visa or cross the border with just an ID card if you’re coming from certain countries like India. You’ll need to pay for any goods you import into Nepal in US dollars. Make sure you have enough US dollars on hand before making the journey! As soon as you cross the border there will be touts trying to sell you transportation and lodgings. The drivers want between 500-800 Rupees (10 USD) per person for a ride, but these prices vary depending on whether it’s a taxi or tuk tuk (scooter).

Barun valley is a beautiful, secluded valley in the Himalayas of Nepal. It is home to some of the world’s tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, and is a popular destination for trekkers and mountaineers. However, it is also a hidden gem, with its own unique culture and natural beauty.
I had the opportunity to explore this hidden gem last year, and I was absolutely mesmerized by its beauty. The lush green meadows are populated by colorful flowers and dotted with small villages. The small streams are clear, clean, and abundant as they trickle down from snow-capped peaks. One can almost forget that they are so high up, as the mountain air is crisp but not harsh. In addition to hiking among these mountains, visitors can take boat rides along the waterways or visit an elephant camp if desired.
