If you’re looking for a true arctic experience, look no further than northern Lapland. Here, you’ll find yourself in the midst of unspoiled nature, with snow-capped mountains, pristine forests, and glassy lakes. But please have some common sense before trying to head north on your own. There are still bears out there! One time I was driving from Rovaniemi to Utsjoki, and this bear decided he wanted my car. I had to be very careful when braking because he would always jump right onto the road in front of me. Fortunately, I didn’t hit him but it was close enough that it startled me every time. He finally ran off into the forest after I stopped my car and honked at him a few times. Still though, the view is beautiful here and there’s tons of other things to see as well. All in all, norther Lapland is amazing.

Salla is a municipality in Lapland, Finland. It is located in the province of Lapland, in the region of Lappi. Levi is a popular tourist destination, and Nuorgam is the northernmost point of Finland. Ivalo is a village in Salla municipality.

The arctic landscape of Salla municipality is very beautiful. There are many different types of landscapes, including forests, mountains, and lakes. Some people live off fishing and hunting as well as farming.
The animal population consists mainly of moose, reindeer, elk, wolves, bears, lynx, hares and squirrels. The famous Finnish Saimaa ringed seal lives here too! They can be found in the water and on land near the water’s edge. Sometimes they come onto shore for food or rest. They can grow up to 1.5 meters long, but they only weigh around 100 kilograms when fully grown! They mostly eat fish from rivers and lakes but will also eat seaweed from the shoreline if it’s available.
The animals that live in this area do not need special protection because there is no hunting allowed for any type of game in this area!

The Finnish region of Lapland is known as the Gateway to the Arctic because it’s home to the country’s northernmost point, and it’s where you’ll find some of the most beautiful landscapes in all of Finland. From the snow-capped mountains and pristine lakes, to the endless forests and sprawling tundra, there’s so much to explore in this wild and wonderful place. But don’t worry if you’re not a nature lover, there are plenty of other interesting things to see here too, from great architecture to quirky museums.

Even though Finland was an early adopter of coffee culture, the Finns still have a strong sense of their own heritage, which comes through in everything from their unique language to their cuisine. There’s something for everyone here, and I’m excited to share my experiences with you! For those who like to spend time outdoors, skiing, hiking or just enjoying the scenery are popular pastimes. I recently had the opportunity to travel to northern Finland and explore the area around the town of Tampere. The landscape is absolutely stunning, with rolling hills, forests, and lakes as far as the eye can see. What struck me most about the trip was the incredible amount of wildlife. I saw everything from reindeer to hares to eagles. If you’re looking for a truly wild experience, northern Finland is definitely worth a visit!
One of my favorite things about Tampere was that it’s so easy to get out into nature.

There are beautiful hiking trails within an hour’s drive of nearly every destination in the city, so finding green space isn’t difficult at all. In fact, there are hundreds of hiking trails across southern Finland which branch off from each other like arms on a giant lake-filled tree. It’s hard to believe this country once lay under ice sheets up to three kilometers thick! It just goes to show how important it is to preserve these natural areas and give people access to them.
