A gorgeous waterfall and lush forest surround the area as well as a beautiful cave to explore!
Another great place to check out is the nearby Manning Provincial Park which offers trails, waterfalls, lakes, and more! One last recommendation would be Quarry Rock–a rock formation perfect for climbing. Located near Chilliwack River Road in British Columbia, Quarry Rock provides views of Fraser River Canyon and Mount Cheam.

Garibaldi Lake

Located in Garibaldi Provincial Park, this sapphire lake is one of the most popular destinations in Whistler. With its glacial waters and breathtaking mountain views, it’s easy to see why. While there are several ways to reach the lake, the most popular is via the Garibaldi Lake Trail. This moderate hike takes about five hours round-trip, and is a great way to get out and explore the park.
Once you reach the lake, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot some wildlife. The most common animal sightings are black bears, deer, marmots and squirrels. However, don’t let these shy animals scare you off!

The key is not to run away or try to scare them off; just make yourself as small as possible so they can pass without noticing you. Don’t forget to bring bear spray! For those who aren’t into hiking, or would rather have someone else show them around the area, helicopter tours are available for those wanting an aerial view of the area. These offer beautiful scenery of picturesque landscapes and give travelers an idea of what it’s like up high in the sky.

Cheakamus Lake

Just a short drive from Whistler Village, Cheakamus Lake is a must-see destination. The crystal clear water and picturesque mountain views make it the perfect place to relax and take in the natural beauty of Whistler. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the memories! One of the best ways to enjoy this beautiful spot is by canoeing across the lake and taking time to soak up the serenity while you explore.

There are also many hiking trails that lead to beautiful lookout points with amazing views. Enjoy lunch at one of the many lakeside picnic tables after a long day exploring – they’re even available for rent if you don’t have your own picnic set! If you’re feeling extra adventurous, rent a kayak or SUP board from one of the many shops near the lake and head out on your own adventure.
Be sure to keep an eye out for local wildlife including bald eagles, coyotes, deer, otters and porcupines! In winter, try snowshoeing along some of the trails before heading back to your cabin for dinner.

Panorama Ridge

Accessed via a challenging but rewarding hike, or by helicopter, Panorama Ridge offers 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On a clear day, you can even see all the way to Mount Baker in Washington state. Don’t forget to bring your camera! It is possible to take some amazing shots from this vantage point.

And if you are up for the challenge, make sure to check out Wedge Pond; it will be well worth it! If you want to explore more trails while in Whistler, I recommend visiting Alta Lake Trail where you can enjoy lakeside views without the crowds. Nearby is Murrin Provincial Park with many hiking options like Elfin Lakes which has one of the best backcountry campgrounds I have ever been too!
There are also plenty of picnic tables, easy access to toilets and running water. Nearby is Black Tusk Mountain which you should stop at before heading back to town. The drive there was breathtaking as we drove alongside Garibaldi Lake with towering snow-capped peaks on either side of us.

Fitzsimmons Valley

The Fitzsimmons Valley is one of Whistler’s most stunning destinations. With its towering peaks and pristine glaciers, it’s no wonder why this is a popular spot for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. If you’re looking for a breathtaking view, make sure to head to the top of the valley where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.

Along the way, you’ll pass by multiple lakes that offer up incredible reflections of Mount Garibaldi and Cathedral Peak. If there’s one place in Whistler that won’t disappoint, it’s the Fitzsimmons Valley. Be sure to spend some time exploring the area’s other trails too – after all, there are over 30 kilometres worth of hiking routes at your disposal! As well as amazing scenery, the valley offers plenty of picnic areas and access points for fishing.
For a full day outdoors, pack your lunch and plan on spending time here! With so many activities to enjoy, you’ll be able to keep yourself occupied for hours. In addition to fishing and hiking, the Fitzsimmons Valley has three mountain biking trails and an extensive network of cross-country ski trails that are perfect for winter exploration.

The Russet Lake

Russet Lake is one of Whistler’s hidden gems. Tucked away in the forest, this lake is a beautiful spot for a picnic or a swim. The water is clear and refreshing, and the views are simply stunning. Be sure to add Russet Lake to your list of must-see destinations in Whistler! It can be found near Alta Lake on Highway 99. The water is cold but clean and refreshing with temperatures around 70 degrees Fahrenheit year round.
There is plenty of space around the lake to relax by a picnic table, barbecue, or explore on foot. We recommend bringing some food with you when you visit so that you can enjoy lunch right there by the water! There is no need to bring anything other than yourself, your friends, and an appetite because everything else will be provided at the lakeside. Pack a light jacket for those chilly evenings – it might get windy as well!
