Traveling to Ko Phi Phi has become an increasingly popular vacation destination, but few people know much about the small island in Thailand other than that it’s known as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and includes the famous limestone rock formation known as James Bond Island (pictured above). This travel guide will teach you everything you need to know about traveling to Ko Phi Phi and what you can do there once you get there, including where to stay, what to do and see, and more.

In addition to snorkeling and swimming, there are plenty of other water sports available in Ko Phi Phi. You can go kayaking, paddle boarding, or take a ride on a glass bottom boat to get a better view of the colorful fish below. There are also boats that will take you out for a day of fishing. If this is your thing, then I recommend going with the Koh Lanta Fishing Club (you may be able to find them by looking for their bright green boat).
They offer overnight trips as well if you would like to spend more time exploring the waters. But beware – these boats don’t have much space! The boat was so small that we had to sit with our legs tucked up under us, which made it difficult to see what was outside the window. But luckily we were only out for an hour and it was worth it because we caught lots of really big fish!
And when we got back to shore we took some time to explore the shoreline and saw some amazing views of various limestone karsts. It’s clear why they call it paradise here in Ko Phi Phi!

And of course, no visit to Ko Phi Phi would be complete without trying a coconut from one of the stands on the beach. The best way to drink it is with a straw! As long as you’re eating or drinking on the beach, make sure that your feet are completely submerged in water- sandals don’t do so well against some of those pesky critters crawling around on land.

Finally, if you have any time left after exploring Ko Phi Phi’s streets and beaches- hop onto a boat to go snorkeling in the reefs just off shore! You’ll find yourself swimming through an amazing variety of sea life- including stingrays, octopuses, urchins, lobster and many other species.
