Hike to Laguna Torre

One of the most popular places to visit in El Chaltén is Laguna Torre. At the end of the hike, you’re rewarded with a stunning view of Laguna Torre and the surrounding mountains. It’s worth noting that this lagoon will only be frozen during winter months when temperatures are consistently below -4°C (25°F). When we hiked up to Laguna Torre, we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and water so clear you could see right down into the depths of the lagoon.

Chorrillo del Salto Waterfall

To get to the glacier, hikers have to make their way up a steep incline that can be slippery with ice. Once on top of the glacier, hikers are met with stunning views across Lake Argentino and Glaciar Upsala. Hikers should keep an eye out for small crevasses in the ice – this warning will help them stay safe while they enjoy their amazing surroundings!
