When to visit?

You can also explore the many caves and waterfalls in the area. If you’re lucky, you may even spot one of the many elusive wildlife creatures such as pumas or ocelots! Mindo has an abundant natural beauty that will amaze any traveler who ventures here. Many beautiful places worth visiting include Pajaro Canyon, Mango Creek, the Butterfly Farm and more.
There are no ATMs in Mindo so it’s important to bring cash with you. It’s also advised to wear insect repellent while exploring nature trails because mosquitoes thrive around water areas. Lastly, be sure to pack appropriate clothing for this adventure. As previously mentioned, it gets colder towards the end of fall so warmer clothes are highly recommended.
Also important to note is that there are limited accommodations and restaurants in Mindo. It can be difficult to find a place for each meal and some hotels may only be available on certain days of the week. Make sure you book ahead of time if you’re staying overnight.

Mindo Nambillo Cloud Forest Reserve

If you’re looking for an adventure, look no further than Mindo. This small town in Ecuador is nestled in the cloud forest and is a nature lover’s paradise. With hiking trails, waterfalls, and an abundance of wildlife, there is something for everyone in Mindo. My favorite part about this trip was watching the howler monkeys fight. They were so cute!
Bring along some mosquito repellent if you plan on being outside during sunset hours as they are especially bad then. I had a really great time exploring Mindo with my family and can’t wait to go back again soon. It’s such a beautiful place that is full of life and magic. The scenery is breathtaking and it’s perfect for the whole family. The people are very welcoming and it doesn’t take long before you feel like you belong here.
There is always something to do in Mindo whether it be hikes or just laying around relaxing by the riverbanks listening to the soothing sounds of water rushing by. I would recommend a visit here even if it’s just for one day but try not to stay away too long because once you leave you’ll never want to come back home.
Nambilla Cascadas

Mindo is a small town located in the cloud forest of Ecuador. It’s a popular destination for tourists who want to experience the Amazon rainforest without having to travel too far from the capital, Quito. The town is home to many different species of birds and animals, as well as some of the best coffee in the country. If you’re looking for an adventure, Mindo is the perfect place to go.
There are multiple hiking trails that take you through the beautiful mountain ranges. You can also visit one of the local hot springs, or take a dip in one of the natural swimming pools that exist throughout this area. A short trip outside of Mindo will bring you to Caanjaque, where locals offer tours through their communities so visitors can learn about their way of life. Just be sure not to miss out on climbing Nambilla Cascadas! These falls are considered sacred by locals, which means there are various rituals performed before jumping into the falls.
Visitors can enjoy watching these rituals from afar or participate in them by volunteering to jump into the water alongside those performing them. If you’re traveling with children, they’ll enjoy spending time at Tres Rios Eco Reserve while learning more about the flora and fauna of this region.
Rio Bravo Reserve

With an extensive wine list and delicious Mediterranean cuisine, this spot will be hard to beat. In addition to food and wine, they also have live music every Friday night at 8pm!
Continuing down Avenida Quito brings you right into the town center of Mindo with shops selling crafts made by local artisans lining both sides of the street.
