The best viewpoints

- Punta Higuero Lighthouse is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rincon. From this vantage point, you can see the entire town and some of the nearby islands.
- Another great spot for views is La Playuela Beach, which is also known as Black Sand Beach. This beach is located on the west coast of Rincon and offers stunning views of the sunset.
- The historic center of San Sebastian Church is another must-see destination in Rincon. Not only will you be treated to an amazing view of the ocean, but you’ll also be able to see beautiful murals created by local artists that depict biblical scenes.
- For those who are interested in culture and tradition, El Cocal Ranch has it all! You can take a horseback ride through their fields, watch them make handmade tortillas.
- One of the natural beauties you won’t want to miss is Cayo de Rinconcito, an uninhabited island just off the coast of Rincon with miles of untouched beaches just waiting for exploration.

The first place that comes to mind when thinking of Rincon is the Domes. These rock formations are a natural wonder and a sight to behold. Another popular spot is the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, where visitors can snorkel and see the vibrant marine life. For those interested in art and culture, the Punta Higuero Light House is a must-see.
This location is also great for hiking and taking in the natural beauty of Rincon. It’s impossible not to be inspired by this location. Other things to do include visiting the Art Studio Gallery or maybe trying your hand at surfing at Rincon Point Surf Break or La Union Beach Break. There are plenty of things to do here and there is something for everyone!
If you come to visit, make sure to take part in some of the many traditions. Visitors will find many local festivals during the year including Carnaval and Semana Santa.
Best sunrise or sunset

Rincon is one of the best places in Puerto Rico to watch the sunrise or sunset. The views are simply breathtaking. No matter where you are on the island, you can find a spot to watch the sun dip below the horizon.
One of the best places to watch the sunset is from Punta Higuero Lighthouse. The lighthouse offers a stunning 360-degree view of the island and the surrounding waters. What makes this location even more special is that it’s less than 10 minutes away from some of Rincon’s most popular beaches: Playa Costa Verde, Playa Hermosa and Playa Los Mangos.
If you want to watch the sunrise, head over to Caleta de los Indios (Indians Cove). Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before daybreak as it’s difficult to find parking near the cove once morning comes around. Even though there are no lifeguards stationed there, the water is usually calm enough for swimming and snorkeling. It’s also a great place for bird watching!

Whether you like spicy salsa, Italian dishes, seafood platters, Caribbean cuisine or mouth-watering meatballs there’s no shortage of great restaurants here.
For those who prefer more traditional American food there are plenty of diners as well. The town is also full of bakeries where locals will tell you that the bread is worth a trip alone! Shopping: When it comes to shopping in Rincon, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Rincon is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Rico. While many people flock to the well-known spots like Domes Beach, there are plenty of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Here are five of our favorites:
- Playa Sucia – This secluded beach is located in the southwest corner of Rincon and is only accessible by foot. It’s a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the rocky cliffs. The locals say it’s one of the few beaches where you can get close enough to touch the coral reef below.
- La Cuchara Beach – Located on La Cuchara Bay, this secluded beach features dramatic rock formations that serve as an excellent backdrop for your photos.
- Las Palmas Resort Beach – One of the longest stretches of shoreline in all of Rincon, Las Palmas Resort Beach offers miles of white sand perfect for walking or lounging under palm trees.
- Balneario de Casas Beaches – With its black sand and clear blue water, Balneario de Casas offers visitors a stark contrast from other nearby beaches with more white sand and waves.
Best dive sites

- Tres Palmas Marine Reserve is one of the best dive sites in Rincon. The clear water and vibrant coral make for an incredible experience.
- Another great dive site is La Cueva del Diablo, which is known for its dramatic cliffs and abundance of marine life.
- If you’re looking for a more relaxed dive, La Parguera is perfect for you. This site is known for its calm waters and stunning views. It’s also home to some amazing snorkeling. In addition, this spot is easy to get to by car and has parking lots close by. Be sure to bring sunscreen!

- More recent history includes having been occupied by troops during World War II when it served as an airfield on two occasions in 1943-1944.
