There are plenty of beautiful places in Birmingham that you don’t want to miss when you come to visit the city. From breath-taking views of the sunset to historic sites that make you feel like you’ve traveled back in time, there’s something beautiful and unique around every corner. Here are some of the most beautiful places in Birmingham, both inside and outside the city, so you can make sure you get to experience them all on your next trip here!

Aston Hall

Located in the Heart of England, Birmingham is a beautiful city with plenty of things to do. One of the most popular destinations is Aston Hall, a stunning piece of architecture that was built in the 17th century. The hall is open to the public and is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Fool’s Bridge: Another popular destination for visitors is Fool’s Bridge. Built by a carpenter in 1573, this bridge has also been designated as an ancient monument by English Heritage. It offers amazing views of the River Tame and is perfect for those who love to take photos.
As well as taking in the views, there are art exhibitions at every turn at Baroque House. All are welcome and this quaint house on Ryland Street deserves your attention when visiting Birmingham. A Victorian beauty located in Edgbaston Park Road near Edgbaston Golf Course, the back door opens onto woodland and waterways.

Sarehole Mill

One of the most beautiful places in Birmingham is Sarehole Mill. This historic site is where J.R.R. Tolkien lived as a child and was inspired by the countryside to write The Hobbit. Today, visitors can tour the mill, learn about its history, and see the original machinery that was used to grind wheat into flour. The surrounding grounds are also lovely, with a stream running through them and plenty of trees to explore. There’s a little pond for fishing and boating too.
Another place worth visiting is Aston Hall – just like Sarehole Mill, it’s steeped in history, but this time from medieval times onwards. You’ll find many beautiful architecture here: take your time wandering around the sweeping lawns or looking at the intricate interior decorations. The nearby Aston Leisure Centre offers various things to do: from bowling and cycling to indoor golfing or ice skating – there’s something for everyone!

Fort Dunlop

One of the most beautiful places in Birmingham is Fort Dunlop. The fort was built in 1771 and was used as a base for the British Army during the American Revolutionary War. Visitors can explore the grounds, which include a garden, museum, and cafe. Many children’s events are held at the site such as Teddy Bears’ Picnic Day, an annual event that attracts more than 5,000 visitors.
There are also talks about life on board a World War II Royal Navy ship. These happen every Saturday morning between 10am-12pm and cost £4 per person. They last around 45 minutes. In addition, Fort Dunlop is host to concerts such as Black Sabbath’s gig back in 2009. Other highlights of the fort include St George’s Church, commissioned by George I in 1721, and a memorial archway erected by John Bright who lived nearby and served as MP for Birmingham.
The final highlight worth mentioning here is the grand staircase that was added when the new town hall was opened in 1873.

Golden Hill Park

Situated atop one of the city’s highest points, Golden Hill Park offers stunning views of downtown Birmingham and the surrounding area. The park is also home to a variety of plant and animal life, making it a perfect place to enjoy nature. Golden Hill Park is one of the most beautiful places in Birmingham and is definitely worth a visit. Located on top of one of the city’s highest points, the view from this location is simply breathtaking. It’s also home to an assortment of plants and animals, so it’s great for those who want to explore nature up close. For anyone looking for a picturesque spot with some solitude, this is the perfect spot.
A trip to Golden Hill Park should be high on your list of things to do when visiting Birmingham!

Cadbury House and Gardens

If you’re looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Cadbury House and Gardens is the perfect spot. It’s the perfect place to learn about Birmingham’s rich history. Make sure to stop by on one of their historic tours. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the oldest buildings in Birmingham. You can even see where some famous people ate! Reservations are required for these tours, so make sure to call ahead.

Stirchley Baths Lido

A former Edwardian public baths turned lido, Stirchley Baths is now a Grade II listed building and one of the most beautiful places in Birmingham. The 50-meter pool is surrounded by decking, lawns, and flower beds, making it the perfect place to relax on a summer’s day. Originally opened in 1909, it became derelict after years of neglect until 1994 when volunteers took over the running of the venue.

After five years of hard work and fundraising, the lido was reopened for its centenary year in 2009. Today, an estimated 150 swimmers visit each week between April and September thanks to fundraising from local organisations like Save Stirchley Baths Group and Friends of Birmingham Lidos. It hosts parties, exhibitions, and other events throughout the year too.
It’s a fabulous place to go, says group member Shirley Durrant. You can walk your dog round there or just sit with your family on the grass.

the Jewellery Quarter

If you’re looking for a place with some serious history and character, look no further than the Jewellery Quarter. This neighbourhood is home to over 200 jewellery businesses and has been since the 18th century! Even if you’re not in the market for some new bling, it’s worth taking a stroll through this area to admire the beautiful architecture and take in some of Birmingham’s rich culture.

There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops lining Newhall Street – perfect for a wander on a sunny day. It’s not hard to see why so many people have fallen in love with this part of Birmingham: there’s something for everyone here. You’ll find amazing independent stores, vintage markets every month and hipster cafes aplenty. Oh, and don’t forget that The Brewery Tap – one of Birmingham’s best pubs- resides right in the heart of the quarter too!

The Millennium Point

Millennium Point is a public building and charity located in the Eastside of Birmingham. It is also home to the Thinktank Science Museum, which has interactive exhibits on science and technology. The building was completed in 2002 and was designed by English architect Sir Norman Foster. The exterior of the building is made up of aluminum and glass panels, which make it look very modern.

The interior of the Millennium Point is just as impressive, with a large atrium that contains a café and seating area. In the center of the atrium is a sculpture called Two Figures by artist Jaume Plensa. You can find this work outside near the entrance of the building and it’s one of my favorite parts about Millennium Point.
Once you enter through the front doors, you will see an escalator leading down to Thinktank below where there are multiple galleries for exhibitions. At the bottom of the escalator, there is a small gift shop and restaurant so you don’t have to walk all the way back up again! If you want to visit some more beautiful places in Birmingham then I recommend walking around Centenary Square.
