Vernal Falls is quite spectacular from above.

The falls flow over a granite cliff and into a pool at the base of the cliff. The falls are best seen from the Mist Trail, which is a short hike from the Vernal Falls trailhead.

The hike to Vernal Falls is moderate and is mostly downhill. Once you reach the top of Vernal Falls, you can continue on to Nevada Falls or return back to the trailhead. You can also get an even better view of Vernal Falls by continuing up another steep half-mile to see it from across the valley. From this vantage point, it appears as if you are looking up at a great temple with its lights just turned on.

Standing at the base of Nevada Fall, looking up at the 594-foot tall waterfall is an unforgettable experience. I would recommend taking some time to explore the surrounding area before heading back to your car.
You can hike past Vernal Fall and climb out onto a bridge that offers views of both Vernal and Nevada Falls. It’s not easy walking in these conditions, but it’s worth it for this stunning view!

Hetch Hetchy is a reservoir in Yosemite National Park, located in the Tuolumne River canyon. The reservoir is fed by the Tuolumne River and provides water to San Francisco and other Bay Area communities. Hetch Hetchy is one of the most beautiful places in Yosemite Valley, with its towering cliffs, rushing waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. A trail follows the Tuolumne River downstream from the dam, but only two miles round-trip before it turns away.
The first waterfall we encountered was Redwoods Creek Falls. After hiking down along a steep set of stairs, we found this small but mighty falls cascading into an emerald pool below that makes for some great pictures! After taking some photos we hiked back up to find more spectacular views.
